The casting technologies (also known as Grede) subsidiary of Metaldyne Performance Group, Inc. (NYSE: MPG), a leading provider of highly engineered components for use in powertrain and suspension applications for the global light, commercial and industrial vehicle markets, has been recognized with a 2016 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Energy Management Award by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year recognizes world class corporate energy management programs. The annual award is presented by the EPA and the Department of Energy (DOE) to organizations that demonstrate improved energy performance of buildings and plants through a corporate-wide energy program. The Awards ceremony took place April 13, 2016, in Washington, D.C. “We are incredibly proud to have won this award,” said Todd Heavin, chief operating officer, MPG Casting Technologies. “MPG is always striving to reduce our carbon footprint. In recognition of these efforts, MPG Casting Technologies is honored to have been recently named by the EPA as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year. We believe that a strategic, corporate-wide energy management program helps us enhance our financial health and aids in preserving the environment for future generations.” In 2015, MPG Casting Technologies completed 235 Continuous Improvement and ENERGY STAR projects, saving enough energy to power 1,000 homes for one year. Overall, MPG Casting Technologies energy intensity has reduced five percent over the last three years.
