Devitt acquires Bently Pressurized Bearing assets
Time:16 Aug,2016
New Way Air Bearings has acquired the assets of Bently Pressurized Bearing Co., Minden, Nevada. New Way Air Bearings, based in Aston, Pennsylvania, has 25 years of experience crafting air bearings, which are used by the machine tool, semiconductor and medical industries.
Drew Devitt, founder and chairman of New Way Air Bearings, said he hopes to expand upon the work of Don Bently, former owner of Bently Nevada and Bently Pressurized Bearing Co. Bently is known for developing eddy current probes and rotor dynamic theory.
Bently sold Bently Nevada to GE’s Power Systems division in 2002, which enabled him to focus on bearing technology, Devitt said. Bently died on Oct. 1, 2012.
