New customised speciality lubricants for a more comfortable ride Whether in brakes, steering assemblies or drive components; in the gear shift, clutch or gearbox; in sunroofs and interior components: speciality lubricants play a major role for vehicle safety as well as driving comfort. Advanced speciality lubricants not only contribute to long component life equalling that of the car, but they also reduce vibrations and prevent the generation of noise - enabling a pleasant touch-feel when using car components in summer as well as in winter. The scent encountered in a new car is a decisive factor for feeling comfortable inside it. It may even influence the customer's decision to buy - whether consciously or subconsciously. One thing is for sure: a smell of lubricant should not be the predominant sensation! It is especially for the automotive sector that Klüber Lubrication has developed the new Klüberplex RA 41-151, which emits only a minimum of smell. The new special grease is free of solid lubricants and reduces wear and friction on hard metal surfaces as well as in soft plastic friction points. A main field of application of the new Klüberplex RA 41-151 is the sunroof. "Annoying squeaking noises are today no more acceptable to drivers and passengers of modern cars than stiff seat adjustment mechanisms or sunroofs getting stuck," explains Frank Werner, Head of Business Unit Automotive Industry at Klüber Lubrication. "The universal sliding fluids of the Klüberalfa MR 3 series not only reduce noise and optimise friction, but they also provide optimum lubricant supply to the friction points of seals, guideways and plastics over a long time." There are hundreds of friction points in every car - a real challenge for R&D engineers and noise experts.
