Schaeffler and Porsche in the land of the rising sun
Time:12 Oct,2016
Schaeffler and its partner Porsche come to Japan with the wind at their backs: At the seventh round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) on October 16 at the track in Fuji, Porsche is one of the favorites.
Porsche has won five out of six previous rounds of the 2016 FIA WEC. Romain Dumas, Marc Lieb and Neel Jani lead the drivers’ standings, whilst Porsche has extended its advantage in the manufacturers’ rankings to 53 points.
Porsche has now sealed four consecutive victories, with the latest three going to last year’s world champions Timo Bernhard, Brendon Hartley and Mark Webber. This trio also triumphed in Japan last year, winning the 6 Hours of Fuji. The track in the mountains offers atypical routing and hosts many challenges, like very unusual corners and an extremely long straight.
