Season finale for Schaeffler and Mike Rockenfeller
Time:13 Oct,2016
This coming weekend (October 14 – 16), the DTM celebrates its season conclusion with two races at the Hockenheimring.
There will be tension in the air at the Baden motodrome when Schaeffler brand ambassador Mike Rockenfeller and his 23 DTM fellow drivers line up for the grand season finale in Hockenheim. All three titles – driver, team and manufacturer – will only be decided at Hockenheim. Therefore every point counts in the two races, which will be held on Saturday and Sunday.
Rockenfeller, who will appear at Hockenheim in his Schaeffler RS 5 DTM for Audi Sport Team Abt Sportsline for the first time, will be aiming to build on his performance at the previous race weekend at Budapest and to end the 2016 DTM season with two good results. At the Hungaroring, the 32-year-old had his most succesful race weekend of his season so far, missing out narrowly on a podium place in fourth on the saturday race. "Rocky" has already achieved a podium twice at the Hockenheimring in his DTM career.
For Schaeffler, the race at Hockenheim is almost a home race. The technology company has as many as eight sites in Baden-Württemberg, including Böglingen and Sindelfingen, which are located only 120 kilometers away from the Formula One circuit.
