Title chance for Schaeffler and Porsche in China

For Schaeffler and partner Porsche, a dream can come true in China: At the eighth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) on November 6 in Shanghai, Porsche can win the manufacturers’ title early.
A The Porsche 919 Hybrid has won five out of seven rounds of the 2016 FIA WEC – clear dominance. The greatest glory for these performances can come true in China: Porsche travels to Shanghai with a 59-point advantage in the manufacturers’ rankings. If the brand leaves with at least a 44 difference then the manufacturers’ world championship title will be heading to Stuttgart for a second time in a row. Meanwhile, Romain Dumas, Neel Jani and Marc Lieb lead in the drivers’ standings. They have already won two races this season, including the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans. Their advantage stands at 23 points.
